Bridge Raises $1,174 for The Providence Center School

Bridge raises over $1,000 to benefit The Providence Center School’s Learning through Technology Project
through its sixth e-Waste Drive held in October 2013

Bridge Technical Talent is excited to announce that on Saturday, October 5, 2013, they helped raise $1,174 for The Providence Center School’s Learning through Technology Project through the company’s sixth e-Waste Recycling Drive.

The Providence Center School is a special education school serving pre-K to grade 12 students from all over Rhode Island who are coping with mental health issues.  Technology is an essential tool for these students – from those whose attention spans are three times longer when learning through technology to those who rely on tech as therapy for handling behavioral issues, technology helps these students develop the skills they need to successfully transition back to their community schools and to life after graduation.

Bridge is an avid supporter of the school’s technology programs – the company’s sixth e-Waste Drive was a great opportunity to showcase this community partnership and garner more support for the school.  Bridge is ecstatic to have raised over $1,000 in donations for the Learning through Technology Project through this event.  The company also produced a video highlighting the school’s technology initiatives to help with fundraising efforts.  Watch the video here!

Bridge’s sixth e-Waste Drive ensured that 10,113 pounds of community members’ electronics will now be properly recycled – that’s over 5 tons of e-Waste, a record-setting amount for Bridge’s biannual events.  Bridge thanks Office Recycling Solutions, who partnered with the firm to sustainably dispose of all e-Waste collected through the drive.

Almost 1,300 pounds of paper were also shredded at the event, courtesy of Affordable Shredding, Inc.’s convenient mobile shredding truck.  Thank you to Affordable Shredding for their continued participation and to Texas Roadhouse, Warwick for hosting another busy drive in their parking lot.

Bridge would like to thank all of the participants who helped make this event such a success, not only for the environment but for a cause to which Bridge is deeply committed – The Providence Center School’s Learning through Technology Project

Bridge plans to host their seventh e-Waste Drive in the spring of 2014 – stay tuned for details!
