3rd Bridge Electronics Recycling Drive to Benefit “Oceans of Grace”

Bridge to Host 3rd e-Waste Recycling Drive

Saturday April 14 from 9am-2 noon is collection day for old electronic devices at the Texas Roadhouse parking lot on Division Road in Warwick, RI.

East Greenwich, R.I., April 3, 2012 – Bridge Technical Solutions is hosting a computer and electronics collection event on Saturday April 14th to benefit “Oceans of Grace,” a charitable program of First Lutheran Church, East Greenwich.   If you have old or unwanted electronics that you wish to dispose of, take them to the Texas Roadhouse parking lot in Warwick anytime between 9am and 12 noon.   There will be trucks set up in the parking lot to receive your e-waste.

This simple action will keep electronics out of the regular trash, cut communities’ dumping costs and raise money for a good cause!   A minimum $1 fee per small item is highly encouraged with a higher fee of $5 or $10 for larger items.   Bridge Technical Solutions will cover the fee for those unable to make a donation.

Most electronic products used in our workplaces and homes contain hazardous substances such as lead and mercury.  When these products reach the end of their useful lives or become obsolete, some are considered hazardous waste. Hazardous waste cannot be discarded in the regular trash.   However, current figures compiled by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency indicate that over 2 million tons of electronic waste wind up in landfills each year!   A great option for disposal of this waste is to bring these items to our collection day.   Do your part to help the environment this Earth Day!

This event will be the third e-recycling drive to benefit First Lutheran Church that Bridge has sponsored since 2009.   Last fall we raised over $1300 for the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund.
